Heathcotes Alverthorpe Flats
- Learning Disabilities, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Mental Illness, Challenging Behaviour
Our Alverthorpe Flats comprise of three self-contained apartments within a large bungalow, enabling service users to progress through their care pathway and further develop their independent living skills within a supported living environment. The apartments are situated on the same site as our Alverthorpe service but have their own separate entrance. They each have their own bedroom, bathroom and living space which enables individuals to develop their independent living skills in a homely environment.
The bungalow benefits from 24 hour staffing and there is a separate staff pod where staff can withdraw when support is not required.
Heathcotes Alverthorpe flats are situated in a residential area in Wakefield and close to a wealth of community facilities including local shops, parks and sporting facilities. The service also enjoys easy access to Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Hepworth Gallery, Leeds city centre and the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Rugby League stadium.
There are many opportunities for service users to develop new skills; Morley Academy is a short journey away and service users are encouraged to take part in the running of the household including budgeting and shopping.
The service has excellent transport links and is just a few minutes’ walk from the railway station. The M1 motorway is just a short drive away and the service is near to local bus routes to the surrounding areas.
