Heathcotes Cranbourne House is a specialist residential service for adults with a Learning Disability who may have dual diagnoses and associated complex needs.
The service has 8 en-suite bedrooms and provides twenty-four-hour support. There is a self-contained flat within the residential service for individuals that would benefit from high levels of support in their own environment.
The service has multiple communal lounges, kitchen and dining areas and large outside space with a garden area. There is a shared bathroom on the ground floor, as well as a shared bathroom upstairs in addition to the ensuite shower rooms. There is a downstairs flat available for disabled access. Service users also have access to a quiet communal lounge where they can use a computer or enjoy in house activities.
All staff are NAPPI (Non Abusive Physical and Psychological Interventions) trained and use the NAPPI red and green scale to maintain positive influence on each service user, with a view to minimising the level and frequency of challenging behaviour. Service users may have spent long periods of time in a hospital setting or may have additional complex needs including sensory impairments and communication difficulties.
Heathcotes Cranbourne House is situated in Bradford and is close to a wealth of community facilities. Service users can also enjoy the wide range of attractions that Bradford has to offer such as the Media Museum, Lister Park aswell as educational opportunities. There are excellent transport links with the service being close to a main bus route as well as the M62 and M1 motorways.
