Heathcotes Wolsey House is a specialist residential service for adults with a Learning Disability, mental illness and who may have challenging behaviours and associated complex needs.
The service has 6 en-suite bedrooms and provides twenty four hour support. All staff are NAPPI (Non Abusive Physical and Psychological Interventions) trained and use the NAPPI red and green scale to maintain positive influence on each service user, with a view to minimising the level and frequency of challenging behaviour. Service users may have spent long periods of time in a hospital setting or may have additional complex needs including sensory impairments and communication difficulties.
The service has two communal lounges, kitchen and dining areas and large outside space with a lawn area. There is a shared bathroom on the ground floor, as well as a shared bathroom upstairs in addition to the ensuite shower rooms. There is a downstairs room available for disabled access. Service users also have access to a quiet communal lounge where they can use a computer or enjoy watching films.
Heathcotes Wolsey House is situated in Eccles and is close to a wealth of community facilities. Service users can also enjoy the wide range of attractions that Manchester city centre has to offer. There are excellent transport links to Manchester city centre with the service being close to a main bus route as well as the M60 motorway.
