New Sensory Room!

28th Nov 2011

Heathcotes Blackburn has recently seen the completion of a total interior refurbishment, with investment by the Heathcotes Group of over £80,000 to transform the physical environment.

Amanda Dean, Registered Manager at Heathcotes Blackburn, said "I've been here for quite a number of years and I can safely say that this service is transformed; it looks amazing and since we've delivered such vast improvements to the home, both staff members and service users alike are much happier; it's a nice place to be and that has to be a good thing."

One change at the home is the creation of a brand new sensory room, designed by the people who live there. Pictured is M, enjoying a session in the new room.

Amanda added, "M really enjoys the bubble machine and listening to music." She added, "The sensory room has created a really nice, relaxing space that people can retreat to when they want peace and tranquility. I love the fact that everyone who lives and works here added their handprint to the wall - it's a lovely, personal touch."
