Great team work lads...

14th May 2012

Last month at our Watnall home we embarked on a major task with 2 of our service users to decorate the lounge. Thomas and Andrew prepared the area ready for the epic task ahead. Once the music was sorted and cups of tea drank we drew up our plans for the day.

Safety was explained to Tom and Andy regarding the various tools we were going to use and the ladders. Then we started on our journey to the unknown.

Tom and Andy were fantastic. Tom helped measure the paper we were going to hang and Andrew pasted the paper. After only a few pieces hung it started to take shape and Tom and Andy were pleased with the results. Tom helped with smoothing the paper on the walls while Andy picked up all the excess pieces off the floor and tidied as we went along.

When the papering was done and the painting finished Tom and Andy helped place all the furniture back and they could sit back and enjoy what they had done.

Well done lads!...

David Harrison MD Said "This was a great project for Tom and Andy and they have done an excellent job. This just shows what can be done with a little bit of determination and a lot of hard work behind the scenes! Independence isn't just about the big things, it's about enabling individuals the opportunity to develop personal skills, whether it's just running your own bath or going off to work. Here at Heathcotes it is our aim to develop those skills"
