Heathcotes Bridlington gets a facelift!

17th Aug 2012

Heathcotes Bridlington, formerly known as Putney House, was acquired by the Heathcotes Group in December 2011 and it quickly became apparent that the property was in need of some tlc!

Our specialist building contractor Rioran Homes were commissioned to produce plans, and an ambitious project was soon undertaken, to transform the home into a bright, modern and spacious residential service, in keeping with the Heathcotes Group ethos of providing high quality services for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Fast forward a few short months and the building is barley recognisable, having been completely remodelled internally, and with the addition of a large orangery to the rear, encompassing a second lounge, games room and new dining area.

Joanne Coe, Registered Manager, said, "We are still in a state of shock! The hard work of the Heathcotes Senior Management Team, Rioran Homes and of course my own staff team have brought about an unbelievable transformation - this is now a beautiful home that we're all really proud to live and work in!"

Deputy Manager Gemma Hollingsworth added, "I firmly believe that environment impacts on mood and behaviour and I know for certain that since the building has been transformed, so has the quality of life of the people who live here; the people who use our service are happier, more relaxed and with the addition of en-suite bath and showers to every room, enjoy a greater degree of independence, privacy and dignity; I love it - it's amazing!"

The Care Quality Commission, who regulate health and social care providers in England and Wales, clearly agree; in a recent inspection, they found that the service is fully compliant with the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety. Barry Price, Regional Manager for Heathcotes, said, "The inspection was a great form of recognition for the hard work and investment of everyone involved - I'm really proud of us!" He added, "The works we've completed have enabled us to add an extra room, so I'm keen to talk with professionals and families who may be interested in making a referral; the home is stunning, situated right by the seaside and delivers the very highest standard of care - I don't expect to have vacancies for too long, so I''d urge anyone with an interest to contact me as soon as possible."
