The London Olympics have captured the imagination of the country, and the team at Heathcotes Arnold were no exception!
After following the progress of Team GB on TV, staff and service users decided to hold their very own Olympic Fun Day, inviting teams from other Heathcotes services to visit their home and take part in a series of Olympics inspired sporting challenges, including Archery, Tennis, Bowling and running races.
The event took place on a warm, sunny day earlier last week and included participants from Heathcotes Arnold, Hucknall, Watnall, Oadby, Blythe Bridge and Sawley. Rachel Whiteman, Registered Manager at Heathcotes Arnold said, "We had a fantastic day - it's great that so many other services got involved and we really appreciated the support. Well done to all our Olympians!"
Brendan Kelly, Head of Operations, added, "The London Olympics has been a genuinely inspiring event, so we're really pleased to see that that our staff teams have used that inspiration to promote sport and healthy activities for the people they support. Team GB were fantastic, but Team Heathcotes will always be my gold medallists!"
