Following the recent introduction of the Heathcotes 'Colleague of the Month' scheme, in which each service nominates an individual who they feel deserves special recognition, we are happy to announce that the winner for October is Chris Love, of Heathcotes Hucknall & Watnall.

Chris is new to the care sector, having joined Heathcotes in August 2012, but has quickly proven to be a valuable member of the team. His line manager Sarah Lycett said, "Nothing is too much trouble for Chris, despite being new to the team he quickly jumped at the opportunity of going on a service user’s holiday and achieved some fantastic experiences for the lads." She continued, "He's been inspirational in supporting activities and always going that extra mile. He has supported T in achieving his dream of fishing and was with him all the way when T caught, in his own words, a massive whopper of a fish!"

Allison Stafford, Regional Manager for Nottinghamshire added, "Chris shows real commitment to the home and it is great to see such enthusiasm and drive. He makes the service user's day just that little bit more special. I'm really proud of him and so pleased he has been recognised in this way."

Pictured receiving his award from Allison, Chris said, "I just want to make a difference; it's great to be recognised by the organisation, but that's not why I do it - I love my job and I want to do the absolute best I can for the people I suppport."

Other indviduals nominated in October were:

Lynn Spellman - Heathcotes Agbrigg: "Lynn has been an excellent new member of the team who always puts the service users first. She shows professionalism, a genuine sense of duty and a real maturity in everything she does."

Steve Rogers - Heathcotes Home Care: "Steve always goes the extra mile for the service user, is a real team player, and is really keen to learn. Steve’s other job is as an optician, and we have been pleased to use him as the optician for the Agbrigg service users, knowing that he will have the right attitude at the outset."

Jane Kimberley - Heathcotes Arnold: "Jane has only worked here a month, but she has always shown a desire to learn and the willingness to go the extra mile with her hard working nature. Staff have also found it a pleasure to work with Jane’s bubbly personality, good sense of humour and willingness to do what is asked of her, and more."

Christopher Cope - Heathcotes Blackburn: "Chris is an excellent all-rounder, always goes the extra mile and is a pleasure to have around."

Lyndsey Thompson - Heathcotes Balby: "Lyndsey has shown a fantastic attitude and has a good approach to professional development."

Roy Cusworth - Heathcotes Knollbeck: "Roy continues to have a very positive attitude, works very hard and is a well-liked, popular colleague."

Paul Edge - Heathcotes Aylestone: "Paul has been really committed and focused with supporting our new service. He has been inspirational in supporting new team members and has really helped transition for new service users at Aylestone."

Leoney White - Heathcotes Oadby: "She has really found herself this past year, flying from being a Support Worker to Acting Team Leader and recently landing a role as TeamLleader at Aylestone. She has been very focused and the support she provides her team is second to none."

Summaiya Aimijee - Heathcotes Glenfield: "She is very good at her job, very supportive, always helps if needed and she’s lovely! Has an exceptionally warm approach to all including service users and good interaction and people management skills."
