Heathcotes senior leaders in Nottinghamshire were recently offered the opportunity to attend the Lead to Succeed programme, thanks to the Nottinghamshire Partnership for Social Care Workforce Development. Tracy Mason, East Midlands Regional Manager and Allison Stafford, Nottinghamshire Regional Manager were quick to sign up.
Created by the National Skills Academy for Social Care, Lead to Succeed is a programme designed to develop the leadership and managerial behaviours of Operational Leaders working in any part of adult social care. The programme comprises a series of workshops, each of which helps develop a more strategic approach to the day-to-day management of the people and processes that drive the sector, and so improve the quality of care experienced by service users.
- Leading and Managing Cultural Development
- Successful Behaviour for Managers and Leaders
- Supervision and Appraisal
- Leading and Managing the Process of Change
- Leading and Managing the Inspection Process
These courses are mapped to the CQC Essential Standards and QCF Framework
After attending the first delivery, Tracy said, "It's been brilliant! Myself and Allison have worked with other providers, brainstorming ideas for improvements to our leadership techniques. We'll all go away and implement these ideas within our own organisations, and will monitor their effectiveness through quality assurance”.
The tutor for the session added, “We want to transform the quality of leadership, management and commissioning in adult social care in England. To achieve this, we are dedicated to supporting and promoting excellent learning and training”
