Lions and tigers and bears - oh my!

7th Jun 2013

Service users and staff from Heathcotes Whitley have recently enjoyed a fun-packed day at Flamingo Land, North Yorkshire.  With so much to see and do, the group had a lot to fit into the day, so were soon getting stuck in and riding the park's fast rollercoasters!

Following a full morning's thrill-seeking, the group decided it was time to relax with their homemade picnic.  With the less than favourable weather on the day, a hot chocolate was a welcome, and warming, addition to lunch!

Refreshed and refuelled, the group moved on to their next stop; the zoo!  An animal-themed afternoon followed, where the lions, tigers, monkeys, zebras and giraffes were big favourites.  The sea lion show also proved to be a big hit, although the highlight of the day was the meerkat show which brought smiles all round.

After a long, but thoroughly enjoyable day, the weary group knew there was only one way to top it off - a fish and chip supper!
