Paws for Thought

Adele lives at Heathcotes Whitley.  Having recently expressed a wish to look for some voluntary work and with a keen interest in animals, Adele has been supported by Heathcotes Whitley staff to successfully secure a casual voluntary job at a local dogs home.

Attending the dogs home with staff support, Adele is really enjoying looking after the dogs, enthusiastically getting stuck in to grooming, feeding, bathing and pampering the pooches.  With their boundless energy, the home's hounds always give Adele a great reception, excitedly anticipating their walks which will often take them all for several miles at a time.  After the hard graft of the day, Adele always ensures to make time for a cuddle and a fuss with her new furry friends.

Heathcotes promotes choice, opportunity and social inclusion.  We access educational opportunities via local colleges and community resources; work experience/placements and a range of social activities with a view to widening relationships and encouraging positive engagement and interaction.  Key principles underpinning positive behavioural support strategies are the enhancement of life experience for the people we support, through enjoyment and involvement in meaningful activities.  To make a referral or for more information about any of the services we provide, please contact Kathie Devenish on 01246 556453 or 07734 997639.  Alternatively you can contact us through the website here and a member of our team will get straight back to you.
