Employee Focus: Jane Kimbley
Today the focus is on Jane Kimbley, our manager at Heathcotes Woodborough. In her own words she tells us about her journey to working with Heathcotes:
I left school at 16 and started on a YTS at Boots as an office junior, after this I tried a few more office type roles before settling down to 22 years working in finance. This came to an end in 2009 when I was made redundant and I had the chance to think about what I would like to do next, the world of care seemed a great choice as I had spent many years caring for my father and grandfather, a side of me that came naturally and I enjoyed. So in February 2009 I became a community support worker and a playworker both on a part time basis before going full time in 2010 out in the community. During my time in these roles I completed my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Childcare Learning and Development and my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care.
October 2012 saw me take on a different challenge in care when I joined the team at Heathcotes Arnold as a support worker. This was a new challenge that I thoroughly enjoyed, so much so that I worked my way towards becoming an acting team leader which became a permanent position when I moved to Heathcotes Basford in August 2013. I took the opportunity to develop my skills further whilst working as a team leader by taking on more office based responsibilities and in December of that year my eagerness was rewarded when I was made trainee manager. The development continued at the start of 2014 when I was asked to transfer to our new site in Woodborough as a trainee manager progressing to manager which I happily accepted and opened Heathcotes Woodborough on 24 February 2014.
My time with Heathcotes has been an exciting challenge from the start which I am thoroughly enjoying.
