For Friday's Employee Focus, we have a lovely story about Constance, one of our dedicated Support Workers based at Heathcotes Glenfield:

Constance was born in and grew up in Zimbabwe before she moved to the United Kingdom to study accounting at university at the tender age of 18.  Towards the end of her studies aged 22 Constance met her husband and settled down to have two children, a son and daughter.  Constance already had a background in care having worked in an elderly home before having her children so when Constance was looking for flexible hours to fit in around her children she found Heathcotes and what turned out to be a perfect fit for all involved.

Starting in 2011 Constance has been a valuable member of the bank staff who always arrives for work in good time and in excellent spirits.  A dedicated professional she likes to ensure that the service users have fun to the extent that she often dresses up as Mr Cuddles which the service users really enjoy.  Everyone really looks forward to a Mr Cuddles visit and time is spent to make sure that everyone who wants a cuddle sees Mr Cuddles.

To start with Constance worked mostly late weekday shifts when her husband could be at home with the children.  This then changed whilst her husband was at college to the long shifts on the weekend.  Constance was so dedicated during those two years, never missing a shift and always working to her maximum ability, ensuring that our service users got the best quality of care and always doing more than was asked of her.  Constance has had a key worker role for one of our young service users for a while now and has also become a link worker for another service user.

With her children starting school six months ago Constance decided to change to the early shift so she can have more time at the weekends to be with her family.  During these precious weekends Constance likes going to the park with her family and watching most sports apart from football.

Her colleagues say, 'Nothing is too much trouble for Constance and she always brightens up every shift she works', 'A perfect example of a Heathcotes Support Worker that we're proud to show off today'.

Don't forget to visit the website every day next week to meet our last few faces as we conclude our Employee Focus Month.
