Employee Focus: Nancy Folletti

23rd Jun 2014

To kick off our Monday we are hearing from Nancy Folletti, one of our Support Workers from Heathcotes Whitley.  Here is Nancy's story in her own words:

'I joined Heathcotes Whitley in 2009 working every Thursday and Friday and I must say I love my job and get a huge amount of satisfaction from it.  During my time with Heathcotes they have helped my complete my NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Meds training, First Aid training, Epilepsy training and NAPPI training up to Level 3 amongst many other Heathcotes courses.  Currently I am in the process of finishing my Team Leader course with Selby College and am really proud of my progress.

Outside of working for Heathcotes I also run a small ironing service which, may surprise some of you, I find quite relaxing!  I also breed dogs, we have some Maltese Terriers and a new addition to the family is our English Bull Terrier named Ice.  I am hopeful that Ice may one day become a fantastic therapy dog as she has a lovely temperament which would suit that role.

My other love is the grandchildren I have.  My husband and I take care of them whilst our sons and their wives go to work, keeping care in the family as both of our daughters in law work in the world of care too.  July is going to be a fantastic month for us as my husband and I are taking the grandchildren to Disneyland Paris for a couple of days, we plan on driving there and are really looking forward to the adventure.'

Gemma Hollingsworth, the Yorkshire and Humberside Deputy Regional Manager, has nothing but positives to say about Nancy and her contribution to Heathcotes saying, 'Nancy is one of our long standing, experienced employees who is hard working, caring, fun and very reliable.  She always goes that extra mile to ensure our service users are happy and well cared for and she is a really valuable team member to us.'
