Heathcotes Positive Behaviour Workshop

11th Sep 2014

Service Managers can be seen here working with NAPPI UK consultant Scott Edwards, at our latest positive behaviour workshop.

As a NAPPI Centre of Excellence, Heathcotes is at the forefront in the design and implementation of proactive person centred support for adults with complex needs.  Central to this is Nappi's "positive behaviour model" which enables supporters to recognise, plan and implement appropriate care interventions.  This has recently been updated to include awareness best practice - the "Amber Scale".  This creates a continuum between high quality person-centred support planning and effective responses to complex behaviour needs.

Initial response has been excellent.  An experienced manager said, "This model gives us a clear way to plan and deliver support, and is easy for staff to understand".
