Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all at the Heathcotes Group!
As 2015 draws to a close, we have been looking back at our successes and challenges over the past year and looking forward to our exciting plans for 2016. It’s been another busy year for the Heathcotes Group and we’d love to share with you some of the exciting activities, key appointments and training developments that have taken place throughout the year.
In 2015 we have supported over 250 service users to lead happy and fulfilled lives and further develop their independent living skills. We have seen coffee mornings, bonfires, work placements, Halloween parties, fantastic Christmas decorations, charity fundraising, a great homemade Christmas cake and even a trip to Disney Land.
We refined our quality audit system and introduced a new gold standard for the services that achieved 90% in their internal quality audit. We have had several inspections from the CQC which saw us achieve a ‘Good’ rating across 97% of our services.
Our dedicated trainers trained approximately 850 people and provided over 500 training sessions, including the full Non Abusive Psychological and Physical Interventions (NAPPI) training programme. Over 120 staff have achieved either QCF Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care and others have achieved qualifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
We employed a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Dr Pete Burbidge, to develop the Personality Disorder services and provide the full Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) programme, enabling service users to get therapeutic input outside of a hospital setting.
Our new website went live, we introduced our LinkedIn Group and continued with the development of our Twitter and Facebook pages, with the aim of keeping you informed about the work that takes place in our services and the progress our service users are making.
2015 saw the opening of our new specialist service in Moulton, Northampton and 2016 will see the opening of our residential Personality Disorder Services in Morley, Leeds and Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. Further developments in Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Bedfordshire and the West Midlands are planned for 2016 so watch this space!
We’ll be here if you need us over the Christmas period; please call our Placements Coordinator on 01246 556 453 if you need assistance with a referral during office hours or call 07739 268 042 out of hours.
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Enjoy the festivities and we’ll see you in 2016!
