Work experience for Paul

26th Jul 2016

Heathcotes Knollbeck have recently hosted some work experience, giving keen learner Paul the opportunity to work alongside our service manager, Jodie and her team in the office.

Paul, who lives at Heathcotes Knollbeck, had an expressed an interest in learning some new skills and as he really enjoys team work and helping others, the staff at Knollbeck arranged for Paul to spend the day in the service office.  During his work experience, Paul had the opportunity to learn organisation, planning and administration skills.  Beginning his first day in an office, Paul spent some time shadowing the team leader, who supported Paul with some photocopying and filing, before Paul helped with some computer-based tasks.  Paul demonstrated a flare for using the computer and particularly enjoyed printing some service documentation.  Paul rounded off his day of work experience, by supporting Jodie to complete his activity planner - which will definitely involve helping out at the office!

Service Manager, Jodie said, 'Paul really enjoys making a positive contribution and learning new skills, so when he expressed an interest in helping out in the office, we set up some structured work experience to give him the opportunity to learn some office skills.  Paul was a very enthusiastic learner and showed a keen interest in the PC.  We will be looking for further opportunities for Paul to further his skills, and make a positive contribution to our community.'
