National Apprenticeship Week 2017

10th Mar 2017

Heathcotes Group are launching a search this week for Apprentices in partnership with Chesterfield College, and are looking to recruit over 40 apprentices across the country to mark National Apprenticeships Week. We started with the Nottinghamshire Region on Wednesday the 8th March. The search will see over 40+ services giving young people hands on experience, a salary and the opportunity to gain qualifications whilst they work.

National Apprenticeship Week runs from 6th to 10th March and will bring together employers and apprentices from across England to celebrate the success of apprenticeships over the last decade. The week will also aim to encourage more employers to take on apprentices and individuals to choose an apprenticeship as a ladder of opportunity to a great career.

Tracy Johnson our Head of Quality and Compliance says “I started in the social care sector as a support worker at the age of 16 whilst studying for a qualification and I feel it is important for young people to gain real life experience within the workplace whilst working towards a recognised qualification, to be able to give them the essential skills that social care providers require to support our service users to achieve the best possible outcomes”.

Heathcotes Group intend to offer their apprentices a permanent position following the success of the apprenticeship programme as a pathway towards an exciting and worth wile career within the group, giving them opportunities to progress internally and gain further qualifications.

Hundreds of events will be taking place across the country during National Apprenticeship Week to spread the word about the benefits of apprenticeships for young people, employers and the economy.
