Have we got brews for you!
Last week Heathcotes’ Whitley Farm in Goole put the kettle on overtime to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, a national fundraising effort organised by Macmillan Cancer Support.
As part of their biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer, Macmillan asked people all over the UK to host their own coffee mornings with donations on the day made to the charity. All of the Whitley Farm service users and staff took part in making cakes, donating prizes and decorating the house for the special day. Their baking efforts certainly rose to the occasion with a delicious spread of sweet treats for everyone to enjoy with their brew. The event was very popular with lots of family and friends visiting for a cuppa and a chinwag. The hosts also welcomed other Heathcotes service users, staff and managers from elsewhere in the region - we rarely turn down the opportunity to eat cake, especially when it’s all for a good cause!
The final fundraising total is yet to be confirmed but we do know that it’s currently at least £120 – well done to Whitley Farm and everyone who took part!
