Kind words for Heathcotes’ team at Florence House

9th Feb 2018

Everyone likes to be told that they are doing a good job and the people at Heathcotes are no different. We love to hear positive feedback from service users and their families, but we also appreciate compliments from fellow care professionals – and this week the team at Heathcotes’ Florence House services in Blackburn was delighted to receive a glowing reference from Social Worker, Helen Hussein.

Helen’s client was going through an extremely difficult period. Helping individuals in these circumstances, providing a safe environment and managing their challenging behaviour, is one of Heathcotes’ specialist areas of expertise. Helen was grateful for the care that Florence House provided and she took the time to write to Heathcotes to pass on her thanks:

“I wanted to express my absolute gratitude and appreciation for every single one of your staff at Florence House in their superb, expert care and support of my client, during one the most physically and mentally demanding periods for him. Your staff’s care for him went beyond anything I have ever seen in 12 years as a social worker, with their dedication to keeping him safe and happy during such a stressful time, and I can never say thank you enough.

Managers Sarah and Tilly worked tirelessly, over their commissioned hours, as did his staff team, to maintain a consistent service for him. Sarah and Tilly are two lovely ladies and superb managers who I will always be grateful to and of whom give me great reassurance in the service they provide for not just my client, but all other residents. I also want to thank his core staff team, including Sarah Phoenix,

Dave Challenger – particularly excellent given the time he dedicated to spending with him – as well as Craig Groves, Louise Matthews, Wendy O’Brien, Lyndsey Jex and Trevor Smith.

Their relationship with my client proved instrumental in keeping him a safe as possible during this time and they went beyond, beyond, beyond what I would expect of support workers to keep him distracted from his heightened anxiety and I believe were it not for their expert skill and care during this time, that his mental health would have deteriorated further. I do not think my words can express how amazing your staff are and I will always be so, so grateful for their dedication and care during that time. They are an absolute credit to you.”

Heathcotes greatly appreciate Helen’s kind words and we commend the team at Florence House for showing the commitment and skill which are typical of Heathcotes staff at services across the UK.
