Florence and the (karaoke) machine!
Working in the care sector occasionally requires you to go the extra mile to support a service user in a time of crisis. That was recently the case at Heathcotes’ Florence House services in Blackburn, where staff received a glowing reference from Social Worker, Helen Hussein, for their extremely hard work in helping her client to get through a very challenging period.
Heathcotes are proud of the commitment shown by our care staff and we are always impressed, but never surprised, by their willingness to go the extra mile. It reflects a strong belief in the importance of their work and a tireless dedication to the wellbeing of their service users. Heathcotes feel that it’s important to recognise when their efforts go above and beyond what is usually expected and we provided some funds to Florence House to do something fun of their choice.
After discussing a few ideas, Florence House opted for the party vibe and booked a DJ who specialises in karaoke for people with learning disabilities. There was plenty of singing, dancing, posing and snapchatting!
Judging by the pictures, service users had a fantastic time and staff really enjoyed the opportunity to party. It was certainly well-deserved – we can’t sing their praises enough!
