JT and PB bring a refreshing approach to day care centre

1st Jun 2018

Heathcotes’ Wellingborough services are once again reaching out in support of the local community with two more voluntary work placements taken up by our service users.

JT from Parkview and PB from Ashbrook House are now working at Glamis Hall in Wellingborough, a day centre for elderly people. They have been preparing the dining hall for lunchtimes and helping to keep the garden looking fresh with plant watering, an especially important task during the recent hot weather. JT and PB also interacted with people attending the centre, serving drinks and refreshments to them.

Located on the Queensway Estate, Glamis Hall is a popular and well-regarded community amenity which has been featured on BBC One’s Inside Out show. By all accounts, JT and PB have been a very welcome addition to the Glamis Hall team and visitors have appreciated their contribution towards the running of the centre.

Heathcotes endeavour to give our service users every opportunity to get involved in the local community and our Wellingborough services have certainly been committed to that aim. Earlier this month we reported that two other services users at Parkview, PJ and TW, have taken voluntary litter picking jobs at the local County Park in Irchester.
