They do like to be beside the seaside!
The UK recorded some record temperatures in February and Yorkshire was bathed in sunshine in the latter part of the month. Heathcotes’ Cranbourne House services were quick to take advantage as staff arranged a trip to the coast for two service users who were keen to take in the seaside air.
JS and JG were treated to a day out in sunny Scarborough (known locally as Scarbados) and the weather was perfect for some fun on the beach. With the summer crowds several months away, staff and service users had the South Bay virtually to themselves and JS was bold enough to dip her feet in the bracing shallows of the North Sea!
Since moving to Cranbourne House, JS and JG have overcome a lot of challenges in adjusting to a new environment. JS stepped down from hospital and JG arrived from a young persons’ service. They are now settling into their new home and the day at Scarborough was their second trip to the seaside, following an outing to Blackpool in January. JS wants to visit as many seaside resorts as possible while she is living at Cranbourne House and the staff are busy planning more for the coming months!
