Personality Disorder

Heathcotes’ Personality Disorder services combine experience and expertise in managing challenging behaviour with intensive psychological input. Service users have access to our Consultant Clinical Psychologist who provides Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) on a modular basis including Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Mindfulness. We understand that our service users may have greater emotional need and our staff are trained to focus on service users’ strengths and abilities and in providing quality and meaningful engagement. We offer a full and varied activity programme which is led by service user’s interests and choice and facilitates a structured day approach.

Our services are located in residential areas with a wealth of community facilities nearby; our service users can develop strong links with local amenities and maintain such links on leaving our services.

Our services have small bed numbers and have spacious communal areas and gardens. All bedrooms are ensuite and we have worked hard to maintain a homely atmosphere in which service users can feel safe and supported.

Our services are not hospital environments; we offer structured therapy in a supportive environments enabling service users to live in a less restrictive environment.
