Induction

Induction

All staff complete a local induction during their first few days and are treated as supernumery until assessed as competent to begin to take on some responsibilities in supporting our service users.  During the first few days, they are issued with our Common Induction Standards (CIS) Portfolio.

Within the first 6 weeks of employment, all new starters must complete their CIS Portfolio which includes attendance at the 2-day Mandatory Training Programme.  In addition they must complete NAPPI training to at least Level 1 (dependent on service requirements).

By the end of 6 weeks, each new starter has developed a full understanding of their role and responsibilities and will have evidence to support their learning and development.  Only at this stage do we consider staff sufficiently competent to work without close supervision and support.
