Why choose us?
Heathcotes Group are passionate about the person-centred care we provide. We have specialist capability driven by expertise at board and senior management level. With directors who started their careers as support workers and understand the dynamic of the care environment, we believe in investing in people and nurturing the skills and experience of our staff.
This has helped us to embed a quality-led culture throughout the organisation, resulting in exceptionally strong CQC ratings on a nationwide basis.
Experts in behavior
A key part of our person-centred care is Non Abusive Physical and Psychological Interventions (NAPPI) - a highly effective approach to managing challenging behaviour with an emphasis on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). NAPPI is accredited with the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) under the Physical Intervention Accreditation Scheme (PIAS). We are able to quickly identify the root cause of behaviours, enabling the service user to progress to more independent living.
Highly trained support staff
Our support staff are trained in a therapeutic and holistic behaviour management programme with a focus on NAPPI. Heathcotes is a NAPPI Centre of Excellence, a status granted to organisations that demonstrate a high standard of NAPPI training beyond the rigorous requirements of the BILD Code. It highlights our commitment to person centred-care and demonstrates that the principles of positive behaviour support have been embedded within our organisational culture.
A transition from hospital settings
With a care support model designed in line with the Transforming Care Agenda, our services enable individuals to step down from hospital settings or more secure environments. We have many years’ experience and outstanding expertise in working with complex individuals to manage challenging behaviour in a homely, less restrictive environment.
We can offer a wide range of specialist services designed to support specific requirements. We provide clinical input and support staff trained to meet the needs of their particular services, including Learning Disabilities, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Prader-Willi, Mental Illness and Personality Disorder.
Environments designed for progress
Environment is vital to the progression of our service users. Our award-winning building services specialise in our sector, developing new build and converted properties to provide a homely feel and suit the specific needs of our client group. They have a small number of bedrooms, to allow our service users the space they require. Each property provides ample lounge/communal areas and Wi-Fi enabling service users to develop their e-learning and keep in touch with family and friends.
Community support networks
Providing greater social inclusion and community integration is a big part of what we do. That’s why our services are situated close to city, town or village centres and within easy reach of local community resources such as transport links, advocacy services, healthy lifestyles groups, fitness centres, colleges and employment support services. Developing these links means that our service users can leave us with a good community support network already in place.
