Great job all-round as ET celebrates success!
Working at Heathcotes has many rewarding aspects, but one of the most joyous is seeing service users celebrate life-changing achievements. The team at Heathcotes Humberston cherished one of those moments this week when service user ET secured his first-ever paid job.
ET successfully interviewed for a role as a part-time production operative at the local fish supplier. The Humberston staff assisted him throughout the process, from the preparation of his CV to various job applications and accompanying him to the interview for moral support.
ET’s fantastic achievement is the culmination of some enormous progress since moving into Humberston in September. It marks a turning point in his life, following some difficult times in recent years. ET arrived at Humberston after a placement breakdown at his previous service, but he has come a long way in a short space of time, responding well to the support provided by the Humberston team.
Humberston Service Manager, Kirsty Isted, said:
“After supporting him through some challenging times, it was an emotional moment for us all when ET was offered the job. To see him mature and progress so much is amazing. I just want to share how proud we all are of him.”
Stories like ET’s illustrate the kind of outcomes that Heathcotes seek in support of many of our service users. Helping them to grow in confidence and increase their self-determination is a fundamental part of their journey to a more independent life. Well done, ET – you’ve just taken a big step on that journey!
