Independent thinking as Enright services celebrate 4th July
Heathcotes’ Enright View and Enright Lodge services united last weekend for a get together celebrating American Independence Day.
The 4th of July is a major date in the US calendar, marking the annual commemoration of the country’s Declaration of Independence which took place on that date in 1776. Enright View and Enright Lodge are located in Newark – the Nottinghamshire town, not the city in New Jersey – but they weren’t going to let geography get in the way of a good time. The services decided to join in the fun from the other side of the Atlantic as staff organised a party with decorations, music and food inspired by our stateside friends.
They certainly put on a colourful celebration. The interiors were festooned with stars and stripes flags alongside bunting and balloons in red, white and blue. The catering added to the American flavour, serving up a meaty spread of hamburgers and hot dogs with a side of fries.
Sarah Johnson, Service Manager at Enright View, said:
“It was a fun day and the party put a smile on everyone’s face. The service users helped us to organise things and they really enjoyed themselves. We might celebrate the 4th of July every year!”
