Help & advice

The quickest way to apply for a role with us is via our website – you can click here (or the Explore Jobs button at the top of this page) to explore our current vacancies, then apply for roles by completing our short application form. You can also apply through Indeed or CV Library – simply search ‘Heathcotes’ and the location that you would like to work in to find out where we’re looking for new colleagues. If you would rather complete a hard copy application form and post this back to us, that’s no problem – please email> and we can arrange to have one sent to you.
The first stage of our interview process is for you to have an informal telephone chat with a member of our friendly recruitment team. They will talk to you in more detail about our vacancies, the service you are interested in working at and your reasons for wanting to join us. This call usually lasts around 15 minutes and it’s also your chance to find out more about us – so please do come prepared with any questions you may have! If you are successful at this stage, you will be invited for a formal interview with the manager of the service you are interested in, lasting around 45 minutes. This will usually take place in person, but in some instances may be arranged via Microsoft Teams. The interview will discuss your experience, skills and values – we’re looking for individuals who genuinely want to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable people, so the person is just as important as the CV! You will receive feedback within 48 hours of your interview taking place.

When you are offered a role with us, you will be given a point of contact from our Recruitment team, who will liaise with you throughout your pre-employment checks to get you started on your Heathcotes journey as quickly as possible. You will be notified of who this person will be at the point of offer, along with their contact details. Our Recruitment Administrators are experts in all things pre-employment, so will be able to assist with any queries regarding your references, DBS check, Right to Work or anything else.
Unfortunately, due to the sensitive nature of the work we do at Heathcotes, we are not able to recruit volunteers. However, we do have Apprenticeship opportunities available from time to time, in both our services and our Business Support Centre. Please email> with an expression of interest and we can put you in touch with our Training team.
We are passionate about growing our own talent. If you want to develop your skills and progress with us, we will be delighted to support you with regular supervisions, access to our training courses and the opportunity to enrol onto Health and Social Care qualifications. Many of our Team Leaders, Managers and Business Support colleagues joined us as Support Workers and have progressed through the organisation into new roles and opportunities. Due to the high volume of calls our Recruitment team receive on a daily basis, we are not able to take cold calls from recruitment agencies. We operate a PSL and work with a small number of agencies, who we have longstanding and successful relationships with.
