Heathcotes' senior management has a wealth of experience in the provision of care services for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and associated complex needs. A number of the team started their careers as support workers, providing a valuable understanding of the dynamic and culture required for a successful care environment.

Paul Musgrave

Managing Director

Paul joined Heathcotes in April 2022, bringing more than 25 years’ experience. During his career he has worked within supported living, health, social care and specialist care. Paul previously worked as Chief Executive of Forest Healthcare and as Managing Director of Executive Care Group. He has also worked as an independent consultant.

Paul is a passionate believer in connecting shared values and using them to make a positive difference in the lives of the individuals we work with. He is also passionate about supporting and developing our incredible workforce.

Tracy Johnson

Director of Operations (South)

Tracy has held various positions within the group including Training Manager, Regional Manager and Head of Quality and Compliance where she was responsible for Quality Assurance and Learning and Development. Tracy sets very high standards for the Heathcotes services and has developed a robust audit tool which is applied across the organisation.

Tracy now has strategic oversight for a portfolio of services in our Southern region ensuring they are operating with high quality standards.

Dr Peter Burbidge

Clinical Director

Peter joined the Heathcotes Group in October 2015 as Head of Psychology and Clinical Lead and is responsible for developing the new specialist residential treatment centres for service users with a Learning Disability and Personality Disorder.

Peter trained in Hull and has worked as Lead Psychologist in a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) for the last six years where he specialised in working with people diagnosed with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. He was also responsible for setting up, developing and running the Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) team and last year he obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in DBT from Bangor University.

He has also had specialist training in the diagnosis and treatment of people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and is a registered user of the Diagnostic Interview for Social Communication Disorders (DISCO).

In his previous work for Heathcotes Peter has provided psychological assessments and interventions in our specialist Autism service at Whitley Bridge and our specialist Prader-Willi syndrome service in Bridlington.

Gemma Hollingsworth

Director of Operations (North)

Gemma joined the Heathcotes Group in 2010 as a Team Leader at Heathcotes Bridlington. She then progressed to Service Manager at Heathcotes Whitley before accepting a Regional post for the Yorkshire region. In 2017 she was promoted once again to the position of Head of Services.

Gemma has over 16 years’ experience in a variety of settings including secure services in the independent sector, supporting adults with a Learning Disability and Challenging Behaviour.

Gemma is the strategic lead for Heathcotes Personality Disorder services as well as the Prader – Willi syndrome services. Gemma is also the operational lead for all of Heathcotes Northern services.

Gemma spends her time working from the different Heathcotes services across the UK but can be contacted via the Heathcotes Group head office in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Elisabeth Haigh

Director of Quality

Elisabeth joined Heathcotes in 2015 as part of the Quality team. She has since progressed to Quality Manager and Head of Quality, before being promoted to Director of Quality in December 2019. Elisabeth has over 18 years’ experience in various settings including physical disability and supporting adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

Elisabeth spends her time ensuring the oversight of the quality and governance within our services and is also the Covid lead for our organisation.

Craig Lister

Head of Services (North)

Craig joined the Heathcotes Group in 2013 as a Support Worker at Heathcotes Wakefield. He then quickly progressed to Team Leader before successfully securing a Service Manager post at Heathcotes Sheffield. Craig later accepted the role of Regional Manager for the South West Yorkshire region. He now oversees all services in Yorkshire, Humberside and the North West of England in the capacity of Head of Services – North.

Craig has over 10 years’ experience within the Health & Social Care sector – predominantly supporting adults with Learning Disabilities, Challenging Behaviours and Mental Health. Craig spends his time working from different Heathcotes services across the UK, but is based at the Heathcotes Group Head Office in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Steve Nunwick

Head of Estates

Steve joined Heathcotes in 2021 and is responsible for the operational management and strategic development of the expanding Heathcotes estate. The estate includes a range of purpose designed and built properties that support our person-centred residential care model and our independent supported living provision.

Steve has over 25 years’ experience in managing large estates and facilities at a senior level in multiple sectors including care. Steve believes that the use of active, modern design within the estate can produce a huge positive difference to those that live and work within it.
